As your elected State Representative I will continue to address the issues
facing our communities, which include:
Waimanalo
• Ensuring our farmers have access to affordable, clean water
• Clean-up of drainage canals to prevent flooding
• Continued maintenance of roads and walkways
Lanikai
• Controlling and monitoring the amount of pedestrian and vehicular traffic
• Preserving our beaches
Kailua
• Working to relieve traffic congestion
• Improving beach access
• Addressing concerns of Bed and Breakfast Operators
Additional legislative measures I would introduce:
• Retro fit all of the state buildings to utilize solar energy to lessen the
states dependency on oil.
• Introduce measures for funding a Hawaiian Culture Center in our district.
• Fund research and development into sustainable energy sources with the goal of
introducing alternative energy into our Community as quickly as possible
• Propose limiting near shore fishing so as to give the fish stocks an opportunity
to re-grow and replenish. This legislation would then limit fishing activities
to a seasonal occurrence.
• Have the bike lanes in Waimanalo repainted and resurfaced and extend them
throughout Waimanalo to Makapuu point.
• Work with the various groups within the community to preserve and protect our
natural resources.
